"I'm very excited to judge this special event," Cox said. "The Baran Global Hunter Classic will be bringing together some of the best hunter horses with top riders from around the world."
Cox, who owns and runs Brookway Stables in Lake View Terrace, California, is a licensed USEF R-rated Hunter and Equitation judge as well as a r-rated C I steward. As a trainer and coach since 2002, Brookway has produced more than 45 horse and rider USEF national champions. His students are regular winners in the hunters, jumpers and equitation at the top competitions in the country. He serves on the board of directors of the USHJA, Pacific Coast Horse Show Association, the Washington International Horse Show and was previously a board member for USEF.
"As a judge, I'm looking forward to seeing magnificent performances from horses and riders while they navigate traditional courses and jumps which could be found in the hunt field," Cox said. "Top hunter horses showcase their abilities effortlessly over big fences and invisibly adjust to different jumps and combinations."
He continued, "The hope is that the international exposure will not only demonstrate and educate the expanded audience about North American show hunters, but that it might stimulate enthusiasm and support for the discipline moving forward."
