New York —March 7, 2025 – GallopNYC, New York City’s premier therapeutic equine-assisted nonprofit serving 500 individuals each week with the transformative power of horses, is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Maulsby and Roberta Wilmore to its Board of Directors. Both new board members bring a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership, public service and community engagement that will further empower GallopNYC to serve diverse communities, including children and adults with disabilities, veterans, first responders and older adults.
GallopNYC offers multiple programs to serve its communities with therapeutic horsemanship. Weekly Pony Club is a structured, confidence-building program that serves children and teens with autism. Two free veterans programs are offered in partnership with Veterans Affairs (VA). GallopNYC also provides a job skills program, a free program for adults 65 and older. Plans are underway to add a program to provide equine-assisted support to survivors of domestic abuse. Maulsby and Wilmore’s experience with similar programs and communities will benefit GallopNYC’s leadership.
