Myakka City, Fla.– Oct.20, 2022 – Evidence is non-existent that a Category 4 hurricane directly hit the showgrounds for the TerraNova Dressage II CDI4*/CDI-W and the TerraNova Dressage II National show at the venue located outside Myakka City, Florida.
The two barns housing 270 stalls were unaffected and the arena footing for the FEI inspection jog was excellent. All 22 horses passed the jog and are ready to go down centerline Oct. 21-23.
TerraNova Equestrian Center prides itself on its commitment to excellence by providing the best-of-the-best for all levels of dressage, from Introductory level to Grand Prix.
The venue also stands by its commitment to philanthropy and the community and, for every hour of volunteer work during the show, TerraNova will donate $20 toward the Florida Disaster Relief Fund.
TerraNova also hosts #WeCareAtTerraNova in which every competitor’s ride, whether at the Amateur or FEI level, makes a difference. Each dressage competitor had the opportunity to choose one of three local nonprofits. All of the charity rides will be scored and the combined scores will earn prize money for their charities. The nonprofits include Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy and Southeastern Guide Dogs.
Competition begins Friday, Oct. 21, for both the CDI and the National classes. A competitors’ BBQ is slated for Friday night and the Grand Prix Gala Dressage and Dinner is scheduled for Saturday evening. The show will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 23.
Other activities on the grounds include The Event at TerraNova CCI4*-S, a kids' zone called TerraNova Tiny Town, the TerraNova Juried Art Show presented by ArtCenter Manatee, boutique shopping and food and beverages provided by local food trucks.
Join us at TerraNova Equestrian Center as we kick off The Event at TerraNova CCI4*-S and TerraNova Dressage II CDI4*/CDI-W honoring all U.S. veterans at a special flag-raising event Friday at 7:30 a.m. in the Eventing Arena on the east side of the VIP Pavilion. Duke Farquharson will hoist the flag as we play the bugle call “To The Colors,” followed by the national anthem with special thanks to those who serve.
