At GallopNYC, I learned that horses tell us how they feel with their ears. Also, we have to pet them from the front, not from behind them. I like riding all horses, but my favorite horse to ride is Eli.
— Brendan, 16 years old
Therapeutic riding directly improves Brendan’s speech skills and helps him socialize more. In the time we’ve been attending Pony Club, we’ve seen Brendan develop friendships with the other riders. The impact this program has had on our son’s development is so powerful; it is difficult to put into words.
— Joan and Brendan, Brendan's Parents

ELI

“My name is Eli and I’m a Rocky Mountain Horse. I was donated to GallopNYC in 2020 to be a therapeutic riding horse in Forest Hills. Even though I am a big horse, I am well-suited to work with children. I am a younger horse and I get a lot of compliments for my good behavior. I enjoy getting love and attention from all my riders, caretakers and visitors.”
