Equestrian Aid Foundation to Present the Spirit of Service Awards at Monmouth at the Team
Long Valley, N.J. - July 22, 2021 - The Equestrian Aid Foundation is pleased to announce that they will present two special awards during the 2021 Monmouth at the Team. The Spirit of Service award will be given to one deserving junior or amateur and one professional attending the show.
The nomination-based awards will honor equestrians that possess attributes in alignment with the Equestrian Aid Foundation’s core values. These individuals embody leadership, volunteerism and goodwill in their communities and regularly donate their time and talent to benefiting others. Monmouth at the Team is one of the longest-running equestrian events in North America and features eight consecutive days of top hunter, jumper and equitation competition, hosted by Centenary University Equestrian Center. The culture created by co-owners Tucker Ericson and Michael Dowling inspires the equestrian community to give back.
“We are very pleased and honored to have the Equestrian Aid Foundation select our show for this award,” said Monmouth at the Team co-owner Tucker Ericson. “We have a great sense of togetherness and teamwork in our show community. It may be challenging to choose which member is most deserving.”
The Equestrian Aid Foundation was founded in 1996 by a group of friends whose focus was to provide financial assistance to members of the horse industry with AIDS. In 2006, the original mission expanded to also offer grant-based support to horse people suffering from catastrophic injury or illness. The commitment to helping equestrians no matter their discipline, occupation or background remains a fundamental pillar of the foundation today. For example, in response to the wave of environmental crisis in 2018, the foundation produced a Disaster Relief Fund aimed specifically at helping equestrian communities attempting to recover from devastation.
